The World Bank has approved the sum of $175 million to support digital transformation in Tunisia. The money will be used to execute the Tunisia Innovative Startups and SMEs Project. About 280 startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs will be able to access non-collateral loans on flexible repayment plans and grants. The project will last until the 31st of December, 2026.
Parents in South Africa can now track their children on board scholar transport vehicles. The newly launched LocTransie app helps parents to track the vehicles, provide SMS notifications during the ride, and also compare prices of transporting their wards to school. This would ensure that schools take proper account and safety of students under their care.
Vodacom has partnered with MasterCard to launch VodaPay Masterpass. The digital wallet will enable subscribers to pay for airtime, data, utility bills and other bundles. All the subscriber need is to add their bank details to the digital app to process transactions.
The inDriver ride-hailing company has expanded the business to Uganda. They plan not to charge commission fees from drivers within the first six months of operation. At the end of the grace period, inDriver will require 5 -8% commission from drivers. With the inDriver app, passengers will be able to set the fares for drivers to either bargain, decline or accept. Uganda happens to be the fourth African country the Russian company will be coming to.
