Feed the Future, the US government’s global hunger and food security project has opened applications for the EatSafe Innovation Challenge, which invites innovators to contribute their ideas for adapting and applying current food safety innovations in traditional marketplaces in Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Participants will gain national and international recognition, mentorship, technical training, and networking opportunities with top industry players, investors, researchers, and academia.

The competition will run from April through October and will be organized as a worldwide effort with national pitching events in Nigeria and Ethiopia, as well as a global final event in Denmark.

The EatSafe program, administered by Feed the Future in collaboration with the SUN Business Network (SBN) and the Innovative Food System Portal, is looking for food safety-minded entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and other innovators in Nigeria and Ethiopia.

Each country competition will select four champions to compete in the Global EatSafe Innovation Challenge Finals.

Applicants will have the opportunity to compete in the Global EatSafe Innovation Challenge, which will be held in Denmark and will provide a prize of $10,000 to the winning proposal.

Applications are being accepted online until April 30.
