Routed, a local vendor neutral cloud infrastructure provider, has announced that as a cloud provider it has achieved VMware Principal Partner Status. As a Cloud Provider, the Principal Partner Status reflects Routed’s competency levels achieved to date, revenue and overall presence in the VMware ecosystem. VMware recently announced its Principal Partner status within its VMware Partner Connect program and offers a simplified and flexible mechanism through which partners can engage with the company and its customers.

As a Principal Partner, Routed will be able to assist customers to identify and implement the perfect VMware solution for their needs. The status is only awarded to partners who have achieved the competency of Master Services across various strategic IT priorities or who have achieved the status of VMware Cloud Verified. The first partner to be recognised in Africa with the VMware Cloud Verified partner status was Routed.

The partner status is extremely important, says Andrew Cruise, Managing Director, Routed, and is testament to Routed’s continuous growth year after year, not only through milestone verifications, but also by increasing size, relevance and competence. “We are thrilled to achieve Principal Partner Status and look forward to delivering our cloud industry skills and expertise.”

Within the VMware Partner Connect program, Principal Partners achieved the highest tiered recognition and had to achieve very specific cross-sector solution competencies, prove project delivery performance, and attach Master Services competencies.

These partners are able to tap into a host of VMware benefits, including field sales engagement, educational co-investment, deployment incentives, development funds, preferable margins and deal registration benefits.

Dave Funnell, Cloud Provider Manager at VMware Sub-Saharan Africa, states: “Routed has made a significant contribution to the development and advancement of VMware cloud services and offerings in the local market.” Their continuous investment in upskilling their team, their understanding of VMware cloud solutions, and their continued growth reflect their dedication to driving VMware as the cloud solution of choice. We are delighted to welcome them to join an elite squad of dedicated global partners as a principal partner.
